Introducing Public Sector Procurement 2007
The need to improve public sector procurement was clearly stated by the Government in the National Procurement Strategy which ran from 2003 to 2006. It placed greater demands on authorities to challenge existing approaches to procurement and ensure continuous improvement in the efficiency and cost effectiveness of public services.
This one day event looks at the public sector procurement process beyond 2007 and will bring together procurement professionals from across the public sector to discuss how the Government aims to save £21.5 billion a year by 2007-2008 - mostly through more efficient spending in the public sector.
"Managing procurement better can make a critical difference towards this target - and the money saved can then be released to the front lines to deliver a better public service." - The OGC
There are savings to be made and there are ways of making all public sector procurement processes more efficient, our conference aims to help procurement staff to identify the right processes for them and achieve some of these goals.
