| | The presentation will focus on the measures to be taken to secure approvals and consents for major transportation projects in complex environments. The presentation will consider the subject from the client’s perspective, and from the viewpoint of statutory and non-statutory consultees. Effective management techniques will be highlighted, drawing from Parsons Brinckerhoff’s experience as a specialist provider of programme management and design services. The risks inherent in the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects from failure to secure approvals and consents will be discussed along with the measures put in place to mitigate these risks. Included in the presentation will be a number of case studies drawn from PB’s experience of working with the range of stakeholders typically encountered on large light rail schemes.
