Cross and local car parks. Heathrow Airport to Central London
By car: It takes approximately 45-60 minutes to get to central London from Heathrow. When leaving Terminals 1, 2 and 3, follow exit signs to the access/exit tunnel. Follow signs to the M4 motorway, which will eventually bring you into London. Terminal 4 is on the main A30 road. The M4 and M25 orbital are signposted. Again, follow signs to the M4, which will eventually bring you into London.
Heathrow has two rail services to central London. In addition to the London Underground is the Heathrow Express service directly to London Paddington station.
Gatwick Airport to Central London
By Car: It takes approximately 60-70 minutes to get to central London from Gatwick. Gatwick Airport is at Junction 9 of the M23 motorway and on the A23 Brighton to London Road.
Gatwick Express trains run every 15 minutes from 0330 to 0130. Journey time is 30 minutes. Southern service to Victoria takes about 35 minutes. Trains run every 15 minutes during the day and every hour at night. (Please note that the times may vary in the first and the last hour of the day). Thameslink trains run through London Bridge, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and King's Cross Thameslink stations to St Albans, Luton and Bedford. There are four trains an hour during the day. Journey time to King's Cross is 45 minutes.
Please note that parts of Central London are subject to the Congestion Charge; a fee for motorists entering the Central London area. The London scheme requires drivers to pay £8 per day if they wish to drive in central London during the scheme‘s hours of operation; 7:00AM - 6:00PM Monday to Friday. The Congestion Charging Zone is clearly defined by signs and / or road markings at entrance and exit points.
