Tim
is a Partner who heads up the Public Sector Projects Department at Nabarro LLP's Sheffield office. He has over 30 years experience of working both in-house in local government, industry and in private practise. His practise over the last twelve years or so has involved negotiating, advising and completing complex Public/Private Partnerships across a range of sectors and providing a range of advice to both Central Government, Local Government and Private Sector clients.

Stephen is a Partner who heads up the Public Sector in the London office of Nabarro LLP. Stephen enjoyed thirteen years working in-house in local government before moving across to the private sector. Since his move his focus has been on large scale transactions including outsourcing, Public/Private Partnerships and Private Finance Initiatives schemes. He has particular experience in advising in education, housing, health care, and emergency services.

Synopsis:

This Seminar will be presented by two experienced partners from Nabarro LLP who will present practical informed and considered views about choosing the right procurement route, establishing the evaluation criteria, avoiding the pitfalls, achieving effective management of complex negotiations and dialogue, avoiding deal creep, and getting the deal done on time.

Simon joined BT as a videoconferencing specialist in 1993, quickly expanding his expertise by moving into audio and then web conferencing.
During his career with BT Conferencing he has managed a number of teams, including the UK Videoconferencing Team, and also enjoyed two years managing the ‘Training and Knowledge Management’ area for the business.
In 2005 Simon established a team to become conferencing experts within the Public Sector. This team is at the forefront of supporting audio, web and video conferencing applications, and advising at both a national and local level. He is regularly asked to present at events and exhibitions and is now acknowledged as a conferencing expert, understanding the issues and obstacles the public sector currently face.

Stephen Brunning, Managing Director

Stephen Brunning has more than 25 years of commercial, estimating, quantity surveying and project cost management experience in the international construction industry. His knowledge and expertise spans a wide range of markets, including buildings, civil infrastructure, oil and gas, rail infrastructure and residential.

Under Stephen’s leadership, RIB Software (UK) has grown to become one of the UK’s leading providers of cost management software. He has been instrumental in securing major contracts with leading organisations serving the transport sector, including Atkins, Capita Symonds, Franklin + Andrews, Highways Agency, Network Rail, Privica, Transport for London and Westinghouse Rail Systems.

Roland Kelly, Consultant:

Roland Kelly spent eight years with Atkins before joining RIB as a consultant. He is currently providing overall management and technical support for RIB FSuite® users at Atkins Highways Services as well as managing the implementation of RIB’s civil engineering software STRATIS® for Atkins Transport Solutions.

During his 20 year career, Roland has worked for several of the industry’s leading engineering consultancies, including Acer, Atkins, Halcrow and Hyder, on a wide range of civil infrastructure projects in the UK and South East Asia. He gained public sector experience with the Highways Agency and Somerset County Council.

Synopsis:

The presentation will highlight the benefits and competitive advantages of an integrated approach to digital construction through optimised processes and team collaboration. It will demonstrate the latest advances in integrated cost management (RIB iTWO®) and civil engineering software (Autodesk®, Teklar® and STRATIS®, Primavera®  SAP®) applications for major transport projects, providing full ‘design to build’ cost management and project control, including automatic generation of detailed quantity take-offs from ‘as-built’ plans.
