The tougher economic climate adds an increasing sense of urgency in terms of supplying the right skills unemployed people to gain and maintain employment. For companies, the challenge is to continue to invest in up-skilling in order to remain competitive and prepared for the upturn - as research shows that companies that do not train are 2.5 times more likely to fail than those who do.
This Conference and Exhibition brought together those organisations and individuals actively involved in the planning and delivery of skills and employment services, providing a unique opportunity to debate and share cross-sector knowledge and best practice and build and strengthen partnerships.
Speakers from major organisations from the sector including the LSC, Jobcentre Plus, the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils, the TUC, UK Commission for Employment and Skills, The National Skills Academy and LGA presented at the event, which was sponsored by Learndirect.
